Product Overview
A self-adhesive aquarium background that turns the bare back glass of a tank into a textured rock wall. An aquarium with nothing behind it shows the wall, the cables and whatever is on the shelf beyond — a background hides all of that, gives your fish a visual boundary to settle against, and makes the plants and hardscape in front read properly. This one is a printed PVC film with a 3D rock texture, applied to the outside of the back pane, so nothing goes into the water and nothing needs to be resealed. It comes in seven sizes and three colourways, so it can be matched to a nano tank or a four-foot display.
Why You’ll Love It
- Hides cables, wall marks and background clutter instantly
- Gives fish a solid visual backdrop instead of an open, exposed tank
- Applies to the outside of the glass — no impact on water chemistry
- Self-adhesive, so no tape, clips or frame needed
- Repositionable while you work: lift, spray, smooth, re-apply
- Seven sizes and three colourways

Important Information
- Size discrepancy — please read. The manufacturer’s own description text lists sizes of 30×42, 30×52, 30×61, 41×61 and 41×122 cm, which does not match the sizes actually available to order (listed above). We have published the sizes as they appear on the variants, because that is what ships. Measure your back glass and order to that measurement; if you need a size confirmed before ordering, message us.
- How to fit it: clean the outside of the rear glass, then mist it lightly with water and a drop of detergent — this reduces the tack so you can slide the film into position. Peel the protective film off the surface layer and apply slowly. Push bubbles out with a card or squeegee; stubborn ones can be pricked with a pin and smoothed.
- Creases in the packaging are normal. The manufacturer notes the film arrives with fold marks that flatten out once applied. If the glue looks white after application, a hairdryer on low will clear it as you smooth it down.
- Do not put it inside the tank. It is designed for the dry outer face of the glass.
- Trim to fit. If your tank is between sizes, order the next size up and cut the film down with a craft knife and straight edge.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this go inside or outside the tank?
Outside, on the back pane. It never touches the water, so there is nothing to affect your water chemistry.
What size do I need?
Measure the height and width of your rear glass. Order the nearest size that is equal to or slightly larger, then trim the excess — that is easier than trying to stretch an undersized sheet.
Can I reposition it if I get it crooked?
Yes, while you are fitting it. Misting the glass with water and a little detergent first is what makes this possible — apply to dry glass and you get one attempt.
How do I get rid of bubbles?
Work them out to the edge with a card or squeegee. For any that remain, prick with a needle and press the air out.
Will it peel off later?
It is a self-adhesive film, so it can be removed, though the manufacturer publishes no guidance on residue. Take it slowly and expect to clean the glass afterwards.
Can I use it on a reptile terrarium?
Yes, on any glass-backed enclosure. It applies to the outside, so it stays clear of substrate, humidity and your animal.
