Product Overview

Keeping jumping spiders, snails or isopods means finding an enclosure that is clear enough to watch, ventilated enough to be healthy, and small enough that the animal can actually find its food. This acrylic invertebrate terrarium is built for exactly that scale: 24 x 17 x 10cm of clear acrylic, ventilated, with a removable panel for feeding and cleaning. It is light enough to move to a desk and back, and clear on every side, which is the whole point when the animal is the size of a thumbnail.

Why You'll Love It

  • Correctly sized for small invertebrates rather than scaled down from a lizard tank
  • Clear acrylic on all sides for proper viewing
  • Ventilated, so humidity does not stagnate
  • Removable panel makes feeding and spot-cleaning easy
  • Light and portable - moves to a desk, a shelf or a show table

Key Features

  • Clear acrylic construction. Lighter than glass and easier to handle.
  • Ventilated design. The supplier lists ventilation as a built-in function.
  • Removable panel. Get in for feeding and cleaning without dismantling the setup.
  • Compact 24 x 17 x 10cm footprint. Fits a bookshelf or a desk corner.
  • Portable. Easy to lift and reposition.
  • No high-concern chemicals declared by the supplier.

Important Information

  • Check the size against your animal before you buy. At 24 x 17 x 10cm this is an invertebrate and hatchling enclosure. The supplier's own listing also names geckos and lizards - we would not house a gecko or any lizard in a container this size, permanently or otherwise. Those animals need a far larger enclosure with a proper thermal gradient. We are flagging that rather than repeating the supplier's claim.
  • Good uses: jumping spiders, snails, isopods, springtail cultures, small tree frogs, quarantine and feeder-insect housing.
  • No heating or lighting is built in, and the low 10cm height leaves little room to mount any. Plan any heat source outside the enclosure and never place acrylic in direct sun - it will cook.
  • The supplier notes that all measurements are taken by hand and small variances are normal. It also notes that photography and screen differences may make the colour look slightly different from the product. We are passing both notes on as the supplier gave them.
  • Clean acrylic with a soft cloth and plain water. Alcohol and abrasive cleaners craze acrylic permanently.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this big enough for a jumping spider?
Yes - 24 x 17 x 10cm is a generous enclosure for an adult jumping spider, with room for a proper anchor point and web.

Can I keep a crested gecko or leopard gecko in it?
No. We would not recommend it at any life stage. The supplier lists geckos and lizards, but a 10cm-tall container cannot give a reptile the thermal gradient or the space it needs.

Is it ventilated enough for a humid setup?
The supplier confirms ventilation is built in but does not publish the vent area or placement. For a high-humidity species, check the vents on arrival before committing an animal to it.

Does it come with substrate or decor?
No. It is the enclosure only.

Can I put a heat mat under it?
Acrylic does not tolerate direct high heat well. If you need supplemental warmth, use a controlled heat source beside the enclosure rather than in contact with it, and always run it through a thermostat.

Is acrylic better than glass?
For small invertebrates it is usually better - lighter, less likely to shatter, and it holds warmth slightly better. The trade-off is that it scratches more easily, so clean it gently.
