Product Overview

Most birds want to bathe — they just will not use a still bowl of water. This automatic bird bath solves that with a small battery-powered faucet that keeps water moving in a gentle recirculating trickle, which is far closer to the running water a parrot or budgie will actually step into. Regular bathing helps birds shed feather dust, deal with parasites and cool down, and this bathtub makes it something they choose to do rather than something you have to coax.

Why You'll Love It

  • Moving water is far more inviting to a bird than a static dish
  • Supports natural preening, feather-dust removal and heat regulation
  • Runs on batteries — no mains cable anywhere near water or a bird cage
  • Non-toxic, odourless plastic that is quick to empty and rinse
  • Generous 34 cm footprint, roomy enough for a cockatiel or small parrot to turn around in

Key Features

  • Recirculating faucet — pour water into the tub, switch the faucet on, and it flows continuously
  • Battery powered by 2 × AA cells, so there is no cord and no mains adapter
  • Simple on/off switch on the faucet unit
  • Lightweight but rigid plastic construction that lifts out for cleaning
  • Two colours — orange or blue

Important Information

"Automatic" means the water circulates, not that it fills itself. You pour the water in; the faucet then keeps it moving. Two AA batteries are required and are not in the box, so buy a pair at the same time or the bath will not do the one thing it is for.

If you order Blue, the exact shade is not fixed. The manufacturer states plainly that blue units ship as light blue or dark blue at random. If a specific shade matters to you, order Orange, which is a single consistent colour.

Cleaning. Change the water after every bathing session and rinse the tub — standing water in a warm room grows bacteria quickly, and a bird will drink from its bath as well as sit in it. Remove the battery unit before washing the tub and do not submerge the faucet assembly.

Placement. Set it on a flat surface or a cage floor where splashing is not a problem, and let a nervous bird investigate it switched off before you turn the water on for the first time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it come with batteries? No. It needs 2 × AA batteries, which you supply.

Will it fit inside my cage? At roughly 34 × 23 cm it needs a fair-sized cage floor. Measure your cage base before ordering — many owners use it outside the cage during supervised out-time instead.

Is it big enough for a parrot? It suits small and medium birds — budgies, cockatiels, lovebirds, conures. A large parrot such as an African grey or macaw would find it cramped.

Can I leave water in it between baths? Better not to. Empty and rinse after each use, and refill fresh next time.

Does it attach to the cage bars? No mounting hardware is listed. Treat it as a free-standing tub that sits on a flat surface.

My bird ignores it — what now? Start with the faucet off and a shallow depth of water, let them stand on the edge for a few days, then switch the flow on. Most birds come round to it once they have seen it is not a threat.
