Build up slowly. Let your pet lick the brush first, then touch a few front teeth, and only work back to the molars once they are relaxed about it. Rushing this is how pets learn to hate having their mouth handled.
- Use a toothpaste formulated for pets. Human toothpaste is not safe for dogs or cats to swallow. Toothpaste is not included with this brush.
- Keep your finger away from the back teeth of a pet who is not comfortable being handled, and stop if they become distressed.
