Always clip a long line to a well-fitted harness, never to a collar. A dog hitting the end of 30 m of line at speed puts a serious jolt through whatever it is attached to, and a collar puts that force straight into the neck.

Never wrap the line around your hand or wrist. Let it run through a loose grip, or wear a glove — nylon moving fast under load can cause a friction burn.

Can I use this with a collar?
We do not recommend it. Use a well-fitted body harness. The whole point of a long line is that a dog can build speed before the line runs out, and that force should be spread across the chest rather than concentrated on the throat.
Is this a retractable leash?
No. It is a fixed-length line with no reel or locking mechanism. That is deliberate — there is nothing to jam, and you can drop it and pick it up again mid-session, which you cannot do with a retractable handle.
How wide is the webbing, and what is the clip made of?
