Important Information
Fill it completely — this is the single most important instruction, and it is where most leaking complaints come from. The manufacturer is explicit: a partly filled bottle does not build enough internal pressure and will drip continuously. Fill to the top every time.
How to set it up, in the manufacturer's own steps:
- Fill the bottle completely with water.
- Invert it, block the spout with a finger, and shake it up and down several times to clear the air from the front of the spout.
- Hang it in place. A few minutes of natural dripping at first is normal — it stops once the pressure inside and outside the bottle equalises.

Rinse and refill daily with fresh water. Check the spout every day by touching the ball to confirm water is flowing — ball valves can occasionally stick or become blocked, and a small animal can dehydrate quickly. Clean the inside of the bottle regularly with a bottle brush; biofilm builds up in any water container. Allow a 1–2 cm variance on any measurement and slight colour variation from the photographs.

Why is it dripping?
Almost always because it is not filled to the top. A partly-full bottle cannot hold the pressure that keeps the valve sealed. Some dripping in the first few minutes after hanging is also normal and settles on its own.
