Product Overview

A turtle that cannot get properly dry never fully warms up. Shell rot, soft shell and sluggish appetite all trace back to the same missing thing: somewhere flat, dry and easy to climb onto. This turtle basking platform gives your turtle that place. A moulded ramp rises from the water to a level resting deck, and powerful suction cups hold it to the glass wherever you want it — no gravel stacking, no wedging a rock at an angle and hoping it stays. The climbing surface is covered in soft artificial turf, so a turtle with wet feet gets grip instead of a slide back into the water.

Why You'll Love It

  • Gives an aquatic turtle a genuine dry-out spot instead of a slippery rock
  • Suction cups mean you choose the height and the position, not the substrate
  • Soft turf surface gives traction to wet claws on the way up
  • Frees up floor space in the tank rather than filling it
  • Works for frogs, newts and salamanders as well as turtles
  • Two sizes, both with published measurements

Key Features

  • Ramp and resting deck in one piece. The manufacturer describes a wide, flat surface for basking with a sloped approach the animal climbs.
  • Artificial simulation turf. The manufacturer states the surface is covered with soft, non-slip artificial turf that gives traction, so the animal can climb on easily.
  • Suction-cup mounting. Fixes to smooth glass or acrylic at the height you choose. The manufacturer's own fitting advice is quoted in Important Information below.
  • Safe PP plastic. Described by the manufacturer as high-quality PP — safe, non-toxic and odourless.
  • Wide application. Listed by the manufacturer as suitable for frogs, salamanders, newts and any water-loving reptile or amphibian.
  • Two sizes. Small and Medium, each with the manufacturer's slope and arch-length figures published below.

  • 1 × turtle climbing platform in the size you choose

The tank, water, gravel, heater and lamp shown in product photographs are not included. This listing is the platform alone.

Important Information

  • Fitting the suction cups. The manufacturer's instructions: attach only to a smooth glass or acrylic surface, keep that surface clean, sprinkle a little water on the cup if needed, and squeeze the excess air out of the cup as you press it on.
  • Check the hold before you trust it. Press the platform firmly and tug it once before putting a turtle on it. Re-check the cups every week or two — suction cups loosen over time as algae builds on the glass.
  • No weight rating is published. The manufacturer does not state a maximum load, so match the size to your animal by eye and choose Medium if you are between the two. A platform that pops off is a nuisance rather than a hazard in a water tank, but it defeats the purpose.
  • Basking needs heat and light to work. A dry deck on its own does not warm a turtle. This platform is a place to bask; the heat lamp or UVB fixture that makes basking useful is separate and is not part of this listing.
  • Measure your tank first. Only slope and arch length are published, so check those two figures against the free glass you have before ordering.
  • Cleaning. Lift it out, rinse under warm water and scrub the turf with a soft brush to clear algae and waste. Let the suction cups dry before refitting, and do not use detergents in a tank you keep animals in.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should I choose?
The manufacturer publishes slope and arch length for each: Small is a 6 cm slope with a 10 cm arch, Medium is a 7.5 cm slope with an 11.5 cm arch. Measure the shell length of your turtle and the clear glass you have available — Medium suits a growing turtle better, Small suits hatchlings and small newts.

How much weight will it hold?
The manufacturer does not publish a weight rating, and we will not invent one. Test the suction hold yourself before relying on it, and if the platform sags or slips, size up.

Will it stick to a plastic tank?
The manufacturer specifies smooth glass or acrylic. Acrylic tanks are fine. A textured, moulded or frosted surface will not hold the cups reliably.

Is the turf real grass?
No. The manufacturer describes it as artificial simulation turf, chosen for softness and grip rather than appearance.

Can I use it for something other than a turtle?
Yes. The manufacturer lists frogs, salamanders, newts and other water-loving reptiles and amphibians as suitable.

Why does the specification table say "fish"?
That is the supplier's own catalogue field and it is simply wrong for this item — the whole product exists to get an animal out of the water. We have left the rest of the manufacturer's data as published and corrected only that.
